My research activity is mainly focused on the development of novel methods, algorithms and platforms for the analysis of several omic biodata.  I am an expert analyst of NGS data produced by RNA-seq experiments and also an expert of data quality control and of RNA-sequence alignment against a reference genome in order to identify the expressed RNAs, quantification of gene and isoform expression, exploration of expression data in order to determine the possible presence of batch effects and to choose which type of normalization to be suitable for the specific data under investigation, which methods must be used for the differential expression analyses. Also I develop tools (mainly written in R programming language) to display and further investigate the results and to perform the pathway analysis and Gene Ontology.

I am a researcher in Bioinformatics with about 12 years of working experience (from 2012). I am involved in the development of several computational tools for many types of bioinformatics analyses, such as: scripts algorithms, graphic platforms (such as: RNASeqGUI, ImageR, Golgi Motif Explorer) and various tools for the analysis of biological data of different type. In particular, I deal with NGS data from RNASeq experiments, sequence data (fasta), alignment data (bam), protein-protein interaction data and cancer data. I developed several methods to classify putative oncogenes based on Copy Number Alteration data from more than 11000 patients affected by 32 different cancers collected from the TGCA database.
